Audio 2 – Accessing Divine Inspiration

2nd Audio- “OPENING A CONVERSATION WITH OUR HEART & SOUL”

Mary opened up this call re-visiting the concept of Releasing Pressure. She really wanted to make sure we fully understood why we allow for this releasing process. She spend time pondering this concept before the call and as she sat with this concept of ‘Releasing Pressure’ she started writing and received some beautiful messages that came through, that she shared with us later in the call.

Mary shared that what we are doing through this process, is that we are RELEASING what is present and the fullness that is percolating within our mind AND body. These can be any unsettling thoughts or simply the many thoughts of the day. They can even be happy moments, ideas or possible adventures ahead, but in an exciting, joyful way. All of these feelings or thoughts create inner pressure that takes us out of the present moment. We are simply emptying out the content that is on our mind and that we are feeling in our body, releasing what is here pre-occupying us, so that we can become very clear and present in THIS MOMENT and open to receive the messages that are here for us.

Mary then shared with us a few pieces of what she wrote today around releasing pressure.

“As we empty ourselves of the day, letting the paper be as a kind loving friend, with a compassionate listening ear. Never judging… Only holding us in quiet embrace. Knowing that this is the most gracious act of kindness to let us empty ourselves that we may be filled. To release the day – so our hearts can be filled with the essence and words of spirit. I am here.”

“As you quiet your mind, in sweet release of the day, letting it flow out like water. Washing away tears. Washing away fret. Even sadness. Washing you clean to receive. To listen. To receive with a washed, clean slate. Emptied of the world and the cares therein. Here to listen, to be renewed like the gentle rain that nourishes the earth as it drinks in the water of life. And is rejuvenated. Rejuvenated. Remembering its strength. Its beauty. Its beckoning to shine. Its fortified nature to declare the goodness of God. its connection to the divine. For it too knows its connection and rejoices.”

Suzanne then shared a quote from Franz Kafka that echoed what Mary shared:

“You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.”

As we clear away our mental preoccupations, we become present for what wants to come to us so this is an important part of the process. We honor what is present in our mind in the moment and if it needs to be ‘picked up’ again.

They then moved on to look at the process of Getting out of the way. Mary shared that we open up a space to LISTEN, not to hear – which is different. She compared it to a human interaction, where if we are in a conversation with another person and are truly listening to them, that means we are clearing our mind of anything else and we are being fully attentive to receive their message. We are completely present.

Suzanne shared that listening is similar to meditating, in that we clear our mind and simply allow the shifting of our focus on what is being coming forward or surfacing, that is being shared from within us. She shared a quote with us:

“Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force. The friends who listen to us are the ones we move toward. When we are listened to, it creates us, makes us unfold and expand.” (Brenda Ueland)

Mary shared that listening has an aspect of curiosity to it. We ask a question, we’re present with it and then we’re curious about what it coming forth to be shared. She then went on to share some writings that came through for her around listening and the element of curiosity with a playful childlike curiosity:

“Emptying myself of trying to understand. Emptying myself… Clearing a space… So that I am free to listen. Noticing. Notice. Curious! Pay attention to what is about to be expressed. As you open a space of quiet, you open a space of communion. You open a loving space of openness and genuine listening that can only be done with the heart. Now Open. Listen.”

“Mary, as you center yourself, quieting your mind, feeling the inner stillness needed to offer. Offer yourself a gift of listening. Let it take the time it needs to quiet. Let it take the time it needs to find the inner stillness. That is your birthright to communion, to connect and know your spirit itself. Where your communion is clear like a soft noon day, illuminating the .. here you .. and you are one.”

Mary and Suzanne then moved on to explore opening up a conversation with our heart & soul. To really examine what brings life to life for us. This will be different for each of us. It could be something active: hiking, cycling, being in nature; it could be empowering others; it could be in fortifying and beautifying our home; it could be an internal searching and discovery – it will be unique to each one of us.

We then moved onto the process and took 2 minutes to Release the pressure and then took 2 minutes to ask and answer the following question:

What makes my heart & soul sing?

After the writing process finished, Mary opened the lines to allow callers to share and ask questions. Here are some key insights that came out of those discussions:

“You don’t figure it out with your head. You get out of the way and allow it to come through.”

We don’t have to figure out the ‘HOW’. When we get information about what we will be doing in our lives, we just get to be sit and present with that energy and information. We don’t have to figure out ‘HOW’ we will do it.

“If we continue to ask for guidance, the different pieces will unfold. And it will be very gracious.”

“We never know the time that it will take, but when we receive and embrace it, it shall be done.”

Many of the callers shared that they were amazed and in awe with what they heard and received through this process. They went into the process with a curiosity… this opened a new space to ‘hear’ and receive. Many shared it was something they never would have expected, with beautiful messages that touched them deeply.
